Thanks for your question Julie. Adding a coupon in shopsite with a set end time is deceptively easy. Here are all the steps.

Go to the merchandising tab on the top menu.
Then click the COUPON button.
Then hit ADD COUPON.

You will find many parameter options for coupons
Name-
Expiration date-
One time use-yes/no
Valid for-specific item/entire order
Type-percentage/amount/free shipping
Minimum cart value-
Return to store page-Page the customer will go to after clicking the coupon.
Alternate code-A code for the customer to enter into the cart to use the coupon.

After adding the coupon you can configure the coupon further by adjusting it to only work for certain products and to display a certain message when applied.
